This is the cake I made for my father-in-law's 90th birthday. It's the same concept as the previous cake (the Chinese New Year cake.) Inside is chocolate cake with cherries and stabilized whipping cream covered by chocolate ganache. The sides are individual panels of royal icing. The top is a replica of his ham radio tower made from skewers and toothpicks. The base is a granite tile which I have adopted as my newest cake platter.

Thank you so much for posting this photo. I have a radio mast crazy grown up son! everytime we go away he 'finds' a radio mast for the family to visit! Last year we were visited by the Counter Terrorism Team because we had been seen taking photos near a MOD mast. I now have the perfect project for his birthday cake! Thank you and well done, it looks fab.
